I hit a winner with this one guys… of all the food that “gives me life RN” these brownies are giving me life!! They taste like a big piece of fudge…and the best part is; there indulgent free – I used all whole food ingredients, nothing processed or packaged so yesss, eat as many as you’d like! They contain zero added sugars, are full of fiber, healthy FATS, and protein! They’re perfect when your craving something sweet come bed time, but unsure on a healthy choice to make! I love to have them after dinner with a bottle of Beetle Mylk for the ultimate end to the day!
These infamous PHAT fudge brownies that i’ve been trying to get a post written for, for quite some time now, (sorry for the delay! #busyprobs) are high in the macronutrient FAT! Healthy fats at that, that you can benefit from by incorporating daily!
Just in case your still scared of fat – STOP BEING IGNORANT! If theres one lesson that is slowly being learned its that fat is EXTREMELY good for you. On the other hand; one lesson that is slowly being unlearned – is anything labeled “diet” “low-fat” and/or “sugar-free” is the biggest scam of all scams! Healthy fats are so crucial for our overall well being, they support many of our body’s systems, aid brain function and help regulate hormones. Healthy fats include mono and poly unsaturated fats, omegas 3’s and coconut and palm sources of saturated fats. These brownies do a great job of incorporating a little of each type of fat for the ultimate combination.
The base is a comprised of eggs and avocados which provide the creamy texture and are both great sources of unsaturated fats as well as protein.
Cacao, which gives these guys their chocolatey taste without the use of dairy or sugar is the bean from the cacao plant. It contains theobromine which acts as a natural stimulant giving you an instant mood boost without the negative side effect like caffeine. Cacao is chalked full of antioxidants that help fight off free radicals and prevent things like cancer and inflammatory diseases. I use cacao nibs in combination with Eating Evolved Chocolate Spread for an AMAZING taste and nutrient profile! I highly recommend this company for their products and they keep the ingredients list clean and to the basics, no additives or junk!
The bananas added are used as a natural sweetener, are full of potassium, fiber, pre biotics; and make these guys super dense in texture, resembling fudge!
Coconut is my flour of choice, which is also high in fiber, and is a source of medium chain fatty acids which your body uses as a source of immediate energy. Using this flour also makes these brownies grain and gluten free for anyone sensitive in those areas. They’re quite digestive friendly and pack some powerful nutritional benefits!
I love to eat them alone with a glass of Beetle Mylk, or break them up and add to smoothie bowls. They store great in the fridge for about 2 weeks giving you a healthy dessert choice, and prevents you from reaching for the packaged and processed things!
