The bowl is inspired by two of our Brazilian friends that we miss so much and cannot wait to get together with, hopefully soon!! You know who you are guyssss! Instead of calling this Acai Bowl, were going with RIO BOWL because this goes above and beyond your classic acai bowl. It’s loaded with protein, healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamin, and minerals and is so damn delicious!
First off, lets talk ACAI! Acai is a berry native to Brazil. It’s a true superfood in the world of super foods! Acai contains a an abundance of antioxidants vitamins and minerals. Acai has been a part of the Brazilians diet for many years, it’s a staple in their diet due to the nutrition in packs in a small amount. It’s very low in sugar and contains healthy omega fats which give it a rich and satisfying taste. Acai contains a heaping amount of Vitamin C, good for building your immune system and collagen production, hello beautiful skin!
Acai can be hard to find in your typical market, but if your lucky you can find it in the frozen section. And now, Trader Joe’s carries it in little packets in their frozen fruit section! Tj’s is carrying more and more fresh fruit and produce and I am loving it!!! Theres nothing better than walking into the market and leaving with a variety of fruits and vegetables. Now if I could just find somewhere that carries passionfruit, I’d be one happy camper shopper 😉

Back to the bowl; smoothies are one of the best ways to pack in all the goods and they are a breeze when it comes to keeping your digestive system happy. So whether you are training or not, this bowl is for you!

- 1 packet of frozen acai
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/3 cup frozen full fat coconut milk
- 1.5 tbsp almond butter
- 1/4 cup Pure Vanilla Almond Mylk
- dash of cinnamon
- 1 tsp maca powder optional
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder optional

Blend everything in a high speed blender

Top with your favorite granola, fresh fruit, and nuts
