Why didn’t anyone tell me the grass was wet?! Dirty shoes after this mornings HIIT session in the park while visiting Nashville. Everyone thinks you need a gym to get in a “good workout” but there’s so many ways to exercise sans gym; putting together some body weight exercises mixed with cardio based movements will get the job done! Try this little circuit next time your on the road with no access to a gym, but want to workout…… because we all know the day doesn’t being until you challenge your inner-better! For the past 2 years I’ve incorporated some sort of exercise in the AM before I start my day, whether it’s yoga, a walk, swim, run or weight training and I feel so much more effective and energetic throughout my day.
Anyways back to the HIIT circuit… All you need is a band, annnnnnnd maybe some Nike Elite 8’s (kidding, but ummm these are the comfiest/most supportive shoes I’ve ever trained in!)
10 min jogging warm up
Repeat 4x
- 100m sprint
- 20 side band steps
- 20 burpees
- 20 glute bridges with a 5 second hold
- 75 high knee jump ropes max effort
- 20 body weight dips (find a ledge or park bench)
5 min jogging cool down
STRETCH!!!!!!!! (Don’t skip this unless you wanna end up with an injury and out for months, I’ve been here) So do yourself a favor and grab a foam roller, the stick or yoga mat and stretch your little heart out!
