Today I want to talk about the importance of self care and why YOU should make this a part of your routine.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the chaos of everyday life that sometimes we forget to show our body some love! If you can try to incoprorate either a whole day say once a month (Saturday’s and Sunday’s are perfect for this) or just incorporating something small daily; you will begin to see how much of an improvement this can make you look move and feel! Find what it is that really makes you feel best, and schedule time in your day to practice that, no if’s and’s or but’s. Some of my favorite self-care practices I enjoy are:
- Magnesium bath soaks
- F.L.O.A.T (you literally float in meditation with light and sound therapy for a period of time; neat stuff)
- Girls day with friends
- Spa day (hair,nails)
- Reading at the park
- Recipe testing a meal I’ve been dying to try
- Looking through old pictures
- Or simply just putting all “to do’s” away and doing whatever I find interesting at the moment !
As selfish as it may sound I’m the queen of self care; Everyone should practice it everyday! Yes some days more than others, but you deserve it more than you think, and the more you practice it the more it becomes second nature. The fun things listed above massages,or even simple practices like allowing yourself that 30 min before bed to read/watch tv and relax rather than slaving away cleaning the kitchen and chasing the kiddos around can make such a difference! My personal self care is in my morning routine, I don’t go a day without it. The importance of self care and routines is such a part of my lifestyle now, that really gives me balance and structure to find “your flow”!
